Who runs this site
Quiet Enclosure is written and run by Noel Trace, a pen name. For anything about your data, write to hello@quietenclosure.com.
What happens when you visit
Hosting. Hostinger hosts the site. Its servers record standard technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to keep the site running and secure.
Fonts. Pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google and Google receives your IP address. Google’s privacy policy applies to that.
Cookies and tracking. The site sets no tracking cookies and uses no analytics, ads or tracking pixels.
If you write to me
If you email me, I receive your email address and message and use them only to reply. I delete them within a year unless the conversation is still going.
The newsletter
The weekly letter runs on Substack. If you subscribe, your email address goes to Substack, which sends the letter and handles your data under its own privacy policy. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
Links to other sites
The buttons for buying the book go through booklinker.com, a free link service run by Geniuslink that uses your location to send you to your country’s Amazon store. Geniuslink, Amazon and any other site this one links to have their own privacy policies.
Why your data is used
Server logs and fonts keep the site working, and your emails let me answer you; both rest on legitimate interest. The newsletter rests on your consent, which you can withdraw by unsubscribing.
What the site doesn’t do
There are no ads and no tracking pixels, and no data is sold or shared for marketing.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or object to how it’s used, by writing to hello@quietenclosure.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
